BRYAN, Texas — Texas A&M University System officials on Thursday announced the first degree programs at the RELLIS Campus offered by Blinn College and several Texas A&M System Universities.
Each program at the RELLIS Academic Alliance creates a seamless pathway for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in related fields from an A&M System University, including Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Prairie View A&M University, Tarleton State University, Texas A&M International University, West Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Texas A&M University-Central Texas.
“RELLIS is a new approach to an innovative academic environment necessary to educate the next generation of Texans,” said John Sharp, Chancellor of the Texas A&M University System. “We are excited to work with Blinn College to ensure that high-achieving students across the state have additional pathways to their educational and career goals.”
Anticipated Fall 2018 offerings at the RELLIS Campus will include:
- Bachelor of Business Administration from A&M Corpus Christi
- Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Tarleton
- Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Tarleton
- Bachelor of Science in Biology from TAMUT
- Bachelor of Science in Health Science from WTAMU
- Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Criminal Justice from TAMIU
- Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing from PVAMU
Anticipated Fall 2019 offerings at the RELLIS Campus will include:
- Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) in Business Management from A&M-Central Texas
- Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from PVAMU
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M-Kingsville
Blinn College plans to offer associates degrees and training programs to align with the bachelor’s degrees being offered by the A&M System universities.
“Blinn College is proud to partner with each of the Texas A&M University System universities to demonstrate how collaboration between student-focused institutions can create impactful, life-changing results for Texas students,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, Chancellor of Blinn College. “We look forward to beginning that work with the opening of a new Blinn College facility at the RELLIS Campus this fall.”
Blinn ranks among the nation’s leaders in transferring students to four-year universities, and Blinn students currently save 42 percent on tuition and fees compared to state residents at the average Texas public university. In addition to Blinn’s low tuition and fees, the Blinn Foundation offers more than 200 endowed scholarships available to incoming and returning students from a wide range of backgrounds, majors and experiences.
Six information sessions for the upcoming degree programs will be held in the Blinn Student Center lobby on the Blinn-Bryan Campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
