Research and Testing
RELLIS will facilitate growth in many industries. Research and testing facilities at RELLIS include those for:
- Autonomous and connected vehicles
- Robotics
- Roadside safety and physical security
- Advanced manufacturing
- Large-scale infrastructure
- Smart power grids and water systems
- Internet of things (IoT)
The RELLIS campus is also home to several Texas A&M System state agencies, including the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
Education
At the heart of RELLIS is a new, seamlessly integrated higher education and workforce development campus.
The RELLIS Academic Alliance gives students a unique educational opportunity by providing access to degree programs from multiple Texas A&M System institutions with those from the Blinn College District.
At RELLIS, students can conduct research with other organizations and institutions located on the campus. These include high-end, innovative private research and development companies, the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
Workforce Training
The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is one of the largest workforce training providers in Texas. TEEX offers customized training, technical assistance and emergency response services to over 190,000 participants worldwide each year.
TEEX workforce development programs include fire services, infrastructure, homeland security, public safety and security, safety and health, search and rescue, and economic development. The training that participants receive has a direct connection to an employer’s bottom line and an individual’s livelihood. TEEX currently offers over 110 different courses to 2,300 students at the RELLIS campus.
