BRYAN, Texas — The RELLIS Academic Alliance team has grown with the addition of a Student Engagement Coordinator.
Earlier today, Carlos Pinkerton began working to develop, coordinate and implement innovative strategies to increase involvement in student organizations and programs. He will also oversee new student orientation and the RELLIS Ambassador Program.
“I believe that student involvement on a college campus develops people in a way that no other place in the world can,” said Pinkerton. “Student involvement allows for the various things that students are learning in class to come to life outside the classroom and I am looking forward to helping to steer that process.”
Previously, Pinkerton worked as the Community Director with the Texas A&M University Department of Resident Life, supervising resident advisors and graduate hall directors for three residence halls. These duties included assisting and advising on residence hall programs and activities designed to ensure that students were engaged.
“Student engagement is critical to the culture of a college campus and the success of our students,” said DaNeetra Walker, Admissions Coordinator. “We know that Carlos will bring a high level of excitement to this position and all the programs we plan to establish at RELLIS.”
Pinkerton joins the team as they prepare to host three Transfer Fairs this fall at the Walter C. Schwartz Building, located on the RELLIS Campus in Bryan, Texas.
The fairs, slated to be held September 28, October 18 and November 28, will allow prospective students to learn more about program offerings, visit with university representatives, review official transcripts and outline potential degree plans.
Representatives from Prairie View A&M University, Tarleton State University, Texas A&M International University, Texas A&M University-Central Texas, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas A&M University-Texarkana and West Texas A&M University will be available to speak to prospective students at the three Transfer Fairs on the following dates:
