BRYAN, Texas — The RELLIS Academic Alliance Director’s Office has expanded with the addition of an Academic Advisor as the first day of classes at the RELLIS Campus approaches.
Earlier today, Allyssa Villarreal began preparing to support the inaugural class of students in a new role as the upper-division Academic Advisor.
Villarreal will work with the current team in place to support and advise students concerning career goals and academic requirements. These tasks will include reviewing degree plans, academic records and test scores with students, as well as directing them toward resources that can assist them in meeting their goals.
“We’re very excited to have Alyssa join our team, as her arrival allows us to move into the next phase of our student services just in time for our inaugural class,” said Associate Director Isaiah Vance. “Her role is vital to the success of students and I have every confidence that she will do an excellent job in filling this key role.”
Villarreal comes to the team with experience from her role as an Early College High School Specialist where she assisted dual-enrolled high school students in regard to academic pathways, coursework and goals.
“I am excited about the many opportunities RELLIS will provide to students in the area. Having worked at a community college, I understand the difficulty that can come along with transferring credits, but RELLIS is making that a seamless process,” said Villarreal. “I am excited to be part of a team dedicated to helping students find attainable pathways to achieve their goals.”
Beginning fall 2018, degree programs will be offered at the RELLIS Campus by Blinn College and several Texas A&M System Universities. Each program at the RELLIS Academic Alliance creates a seamless pathway for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in a variety of related fields including criminal justice, business and health sciences.
The RELLIS Academic Alliance and Blinn College are hosting a New Student Orientation Thursday, August 23 and Friday, August 24 for all students enrolled in courses at the RELLIS Campus.
