BRYAN, Texas — As the first day of classes approaches, the RELLIS Academic Alliance is set to host New Student Orientation for the inaugural class at the RELLIS Campus.
The orientation, slated to be held August 23rd and 24th, will culminate on the final day with registration for fall classes for all students at RELLIS. Students will also receive information on available student services and resources, while learning about the rich histories and traditions of each participating Texas A&M System regional university and Blinn College.
“We are excited to kick off the fall academic semester by bringing all the students at RELLIS together to share details on what to expect this fall and really prepare them for the semester,” said Associate Director Isaiah Vance.
Blinn College will also be co-hosting the orientation as they expect over 1,500 students at the RELLIS Campus this fall.
“We look forward to making each new student feel welcome as they prepare to begin an incredible educational journey at the RELLIS Campus,” said Chris Marrs, Blinn College Executive Dean for the RELLIS Campus.
Beginning fall 2018, degree programs will be offered at the RELLIS Campus by Blinn College and several Texas A&M System regional universities. Each program at the RELLIS Academic Alliance creates a seamless pathway for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in a variety of related fields including criminal justice, business and health sciences.
The inaugural class of students at RELLIS will utilize Blinn College’s Walter C. Schwartz building for the first academic year. The second building in the RELLIS Academic Complex is expected to be completed June 2019 and will feature 10 classrooms, group learning and collaboration spaces, modern allied health teaching laboratories, upper division science laboratories and more than 40 faculty offices. It will serve the upper-division students beginning fall 2019.
Representatives from Blinn College, Prairie View A&M University, Tarleton State University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University-Texarkana and West Texas A&M University will be available during the orientation.
