Dr. L. Murphy Smith

Dr. Lawrence Murphy Smith is a Professor of Accounting at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He teaches international accounting and ethics. His academic record includes over 270 journal articles, 22 books and monographs, over 200 academic conference presentations, 37 research grants, and more than 20 awards and special recognitions for teaching and research. He ranks in the top one percent of authors on Social Science Research Network (SSRN.com) by downloaded articles (over 87,000). His work is highly referenced, with over 4,800 citations to his work shown on Google Scholar; ranked 1st among scholars specializing in “accounting ethics,” 8th in “international accounting,” and 10th in “human trafficking.” Among his awards and honors are the Outstanding International Accounting Educator Award from the American Accounting Association International Accounting Section, the Outstanding Educator Award from the Texas Society of CPAs, and the Authors Award from the Association of Government Accountants. His work has been reported in various news media, including National Public Radio, Fortune, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal.

Dr. D. Larry Crumbley

Dr. Crumbley has written more than 325 articles and 65 books, including 13 educational novels. He was named as one of the only 24 Pioneers of the Profession in their Industry Titans Financial Consultants by NACVA in 2016; AAA Forensic Accounting Section Lifetime Achievement Award, 2015; Distinguished Contribution to the Development of Forensic Accounting, April 2018, University of Toronto; the 2010 Federation of Business Disciplines Outstanding Educator Award; and the Society of Louisiana CPA Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Education Award in 2007. He founded both the American Taxation Association and Forensic Accounting Sections of the American Accounting Association, served as president for four American Accounting Association sections, and has served on the AAA council for five years.

Dr. John De Leon

Dr. De Leon earned his PhD in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to coming to RELLIS, Dr. De Leon was an assistant professor of management at Tarleton State University. His research interests include innovation, legitimacy, and strategic human resource management.

Dr. Yu-Shan (Sandy) Huang

Dr. Huang enjoys teaching and interacting with students, and she strives to create interactive learning experiences that help students achieve their goals. Her research focuses on the management of interfaces between frontline employees and customers. Her work has been published in different peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Services Marketing.

Dr. Dimitrios Koutmos

Dr. Dimitrios Koutmos specializes in asset pricing, banking, blockchain technologies, data analytics, derivatives, and risk management. He has taught on a range of subjects in China, Europe, and the United States, where he is privileged to have worked with a diverse student body over the years. Dimitrios’ passions are in teaching and research and the interplay between the two. He regularly involves students with his research. In recent years, he has served as an adviser to undergraduate students who have ultimately published their manuscripts in peer-reviewed academic journals pertaining to topics such as artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. Dimitrios’ recent research on blockchain-based cryptocurrencies has been featured in news outlets such as Business Insider and Yahoo! Finance. In recent years, he has also been awarded as a recognized reviewer by the European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Research in International Business and Finance, and Economics Letters.

Anthony Sellers

Anthony Sellers is an adjunct faculty member who focuses on entrepreneurship, marketing, & other related fields. Professor Sellers’ career is dedicated to US sales in the health care industry.

Dr. Kathy Smith

Previously, Dr. Smith taught at TAMU, the University of Mississippi, and Murray State University before joining the A&M-Corpus Christi Department of Management and Marketing faculty. Her teaching and research interests include digital marketing, mobile marketing, and corporate social responsibility.
