If you’re passionate and committed to strengthening marginalized and oppressed populations, start building your future with a degree in Social Work offered by Tarleton State University. The Bachelor of Social Work offers a specialized degree that prepares you for opportunities for licensure by the State of Texas as a qualified Social Worker. Our program is hands-on, with community-based learning beginning in your junior year. Complete a four-semester sequence of courses that result in a finished portfolio that can be used to document your achievement of the competencies, as well as used for evidence in searching for a job. 

To be licensed as a Social Worker in Texas, you must have a BSW or MSW. No other degree allows for licensure. The BSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), indicating that you meet rigorous standards and undergo periodic reaffirmation processes.
