Additionally, Students receive hands-on instruction in construction planning and design, scheduling, budgeting, personnel management, quality assurance, and safety. The Program Follows NCCER curriculum for fundamentals of crew leadership, project supervision, and project management.

The Facility Maintenance Program offers a variety of awards designed to prepare students for entry-level facility maintenance positions, including college credit degree plans that place students on the pathway to higher wage positions in the industry. The Plumbing Program includes a 10-hour construction training course covering OSHA standards, policies, and procedures in the construction industry. Topics include scope and application of the standards, construction safety and health principles, and special emphasis on those areas in construction which are most hazardous. Additionally, it also includes over 200 contact hours of skills training and assessments covering basic safety; construction math, hand tools, power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging; introductory plumbing; plumbing tools; plumbing math; plumbing drawings; plastic pipe and fittings; copper tube and fittings; cast iron pipe and fittings; steel pipe and fittings; plumbing fixtures; drain, waste, and vent systems; and water distribution systems.

Overview
The CDL Truck Driving Program prepares students to earn your commercial driver’s license and begin a new, high-demand career. Through the two concurrent courses, students will learn to conduct pre-trip, on-the-road, and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections and gain skills in map reading, managing logbooks and cargo documentation, dispatch procedures, emergency responsibilities, and transportation agency regulations.
Program
Pre-Class Requirements: 6 step process
- Pass a DOT Physical.
- Study for a Class A CDL Permit.
- Schedule an appointment with DPS to take the appropriate tests required to obtain your Class A learners permit.
- If you have not already done so, complete the Blinn Student Enrollment Form available at www.blinn.edu/truck-driving or available at RCTA at the in-person initial contact interview or anytime during normal operating hours or by special arrangements.
- Again, if you have not already done so, pay your tuition of $5,500 for the Commercial Driver Skills Training Course.
- Bring your valid driver’s license and your valid permit, as your permit is only valid when accompanied by your valid driver’s license. Also bring your DOT medical card, with you to your assigned first day of class in the Commercial Driver Skills Training Class, provide it to an RCTA instructor, and be prepared to take your first official DOT Drug Screen which will be recorded in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. Also, be prepared to jump right in with both feet ready to learn on day one.

Overview
The welding technology program offers competency based training in welding technology for student by including entry-level to advanced level welding processes such as, shielding metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW, gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW) basic metallurgy, and inspection procedures based on industry welding codes.

- Complete / Verify your Personal Information. Click Continue when done.
- You will then go to the final payment screen. Enter in the applicable payment information and click Finish when complete.
- Once complete, you will see a Confirmation screen on the myTEEX Student portal. You can click Start Course at this time. You will also receive a confirmation email to the email tied to your account.

REGISTRATION FAQs
Payment is required at the time of registration. Registration without payment does not hold a student’s spot in class.
In the event a course is canceled by Blinn, a full refund will be given to the student. Students will be notified of course cancellation three (3) business days before the start date.
To receive a full refund, the student must notify the Division of Applied Technology, Workforce, and Economic Development 48 business hours (or 2 business days) before the course start date. Other withdrawals will result in prorated refunds per the following:
- For classes that meet less than four (4) times:
- A 50% refund will be given with less than 48 business hours cancellation
- No refund will be given after the first class
- For classes that meet four (4) to eight (8) times:
- An 80% refund will be given before the second-class day
- No refund will be given after the second class
- For classes that meet more than eight (8) times:
- An 80% refund will be given before the second class
- A 50% refund will be given before the third class
- No refund will be available after the third class
- Refunds require a minimum of six (6) weeks to process. Students will not receive a refund immediately.
