Purpose Through Community
Claudia Kyle began her college journey at just nineteen years old, enrolling at the RELLIS Campus while pursuing a Health Psychology degree from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. From the start, RELLIS became more than a place to attend classes; it became a space for personal growth, connection, and purpose that shaped how she viewed leadership and service.
As a young student, Claudia learned that leadership was not defined by titles, but by accountability and supporting others.
“RELLIS taught me that leadership was about accountability and showing up for your classmates,” she said.
One of the aspects Claudia valued most was the close-knit community within her program. Small class sizes allowed her to build meaningful relationships with peers and collaborate closely with classmates who supported one another throughout the program.
“We were always helping each other,” she said. “You really got to know everyone, and that made learning easier.”
Some of her favorite memories included monthly RELLIS Recharge Days and group study sessions that blended learning with laughter—experiences she credited with contributing to her academic success.
Outside the classroom, Claudia developed strong communication and leadership skills through class presentations and her involvement in the Psychology Club, where she strengthened her decision-making, resilience, and listening skills.
As she prepared to graduate, Claudia looked forward to entering the workforce and pursuing her passion for helping children and adolescents thrive. She credited her success to the support of her parents, her partner, her classmates, and Dr. Riley, who guided her throughout her time at RELLIS.
Looking back, Claudia said her time at RELLIS gave her more than a degree—it gave her lifelong friendships and a community she would always value
