STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
Kennadee Fisk
Spring 2026 Graduate
B.S. Elementary Teacher Education
Kenadee Fisk knew she wanted to pursue a career in education, and Tarleton State University at RELLIS helped shape her into the confident future educator she is today. Through meaningful classroom experiences, strong mentorship, and opportunities that pushed her out of her comfort zone, she not only discovered a passion for teaching but also the importance of leadership, connection, and service. “My time as a student at The RELLIS Campus has helped me become more confident and outgoing, both as a student and as a future teacher,” Fisk says. “Through my experiences in the classroom and working with others, I have developed stronger communication and leadership skills. I have also learned that leadership and service are about showing patience, consistency, and support to those around you every day.” Her dedication to demonstrating the RELLIS core values of respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity, and selfless service was recognized at the Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony, when she was presented with the Chancellor’s Award, one of the highest honors awarded to students graduating within the Texas A&M University System. The award is presented to students who demonstrate the RELLIS core values both inside and outside of the classroom.
As a student in Tarleton’s Education program at RELLIS, Fisk embraced every opportunity to grow academically and professionally. One of the most impactful parts of her experience was the close relationships she built with faculty and staff. Smaller class sizes and individualized support allowed her to connect more personally with professors who continuously encouraged her to challenge herself and pursue new opportunities. “My favorite part about studying at RELLIS Campus has been the amazing opportunities I have been given throughout my time here. Working one-on-one with my professor encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone and helped open the door to many of those opportunities,” says Fisk. “Because of her support and encouragement, I was able to build relationships with different staff members, travel to conferences that strengthened my learning and professional growth, and serve on meaningful committees that allowed me to collaborate and grow as a future educator.”
With that encouragement, Fisk strengthened her confidence, built professional relationships, and expanded her experiences beyond the classroom. She participated in conferences and committees that allowed her to collaborate with others, develop professionally, and continue preparing for a career in education.
Kenadee is excited to begin the next chapter of her Journey as a Resource Teacher at a local elementary school and states, “I am looking forward to supporting students, building relationships, and creating a positive learning environment where all students feel successful and encouraged.”
When looking back on her RELLIS experience, Kenadee would tell future students considering RELLIS, “DO IT! My time here has been incredibly rewarding, and the professors are truly amazing. Everyone works so hard to help you succeed, and the small class sizes give you the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with both your classmates and professors, which makes such a difference in your learning experience. If you are interested in leadership, get involved and take advantage of every opportunity, because RELLIS does a great job of encouraging students to grow both personally and professionally.”
