Dr. Katherine Brown
Dr. Brown is a faculty affiliate in The Institute on Violence Against Women and Human Trafficking at Tarleton. In addition to her interest in crimes against women and children, her research interests include child abduction murder investigation, crime scene investigation, serial murder, crime scene assessment, technology-facilitated crimes against children, forensic evidence, and other solvability factors affecting murder investigations.

Dr. Shantol Mcintosh
Dr. McIntosh is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the Department of Criminal Justice at Tarleton State University. Dr. McIntosh’s research interests focus on vital aspects of criminal justice, ranging from policing, police and youth interaction, youth gangs, delinquency, victimization, child/youth maltreatment, crime against girls/women, prison population, correction officers’ excessive use of force, and policy implications. Her presence within the academic community is marked by her engaging teaching methods and genuine dedication to preparing the next generation of criminal justice professionals. Her diverse approach to and interest in education and research embodies Tarleton State University’s excellence culture.
