Tarleton State University offers a general education degree program that provides a foundation for mastering teaching skills and specialized knowledge in a specific content area. Students can earn either a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Teacher Education with teacher education certification or an All-Level Special Education degree.

Undergraduate students who are seeking initial Texas teacher certification through the Tarleton Teacher Education Program are guided through the program from the time they start their application until they complete all field experiences, testing, and are recommended for certification. The Curriculum and Instruction Department at Tarleton State University strives to ensure students are day-one ready for the classroom upon graduation. We offer a year-long residency program that helps prepare our students for the classroom.

Want to make an incredible difference in the lives of children? Start building a career in Interdisciplinary Studies offered by Stephen F. Austin State University. The completer program for the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood (EC) through grade 6 is designed to develop your knowledge and skills in education with field-based courses that provide real-world experience working with children.

This SFA degree allows Blinn College District students with an Associate of Arts in Teaching or Associate of Science in Education to transfer seamlessly into the SFA BSIS EC-6 concentration offered at RELLIS. Now college students from the Bryan/College Station area can access this high-quality degree program without leaving their home area, their jobs and their families.
